Pink Ambulances?

If you live in the Hampton Roads, VA vicinity, you may very well have seen pink ambulances on the road.

What’s the deal? Why would someone paint ambulances pink? I bet you can guess. Uh huh, they painted them pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer. What a great idea!

An employee of the ambulance company Medical Transport LLC had a run-in with breast cancer several years back. She was lucky, catching the disease fairly early. In her honor as a breast cancer survivor, the company and the Sentara Brock Cancer Center decided to decorate one of their ambulances in bright pink. It even bears her name! Since then, additional pink ambulances have been introduced into the Sentara fleet named after breast cancer patients who passed.

What an original way to bring attention to a very important subject!
